Mr. Farley is a Professional Industrial Engineer with extensive experience in process improvement and project management. During 20 years with Weyerhaeuser Company, he held several engineering management positions and was that company’s Corporate Director of Industrial Engineering and Quality Control. While leading Weyerhaeuser’s Lumber R&D Department, he helped develop much of the early scanning and decision-making technology now used in the lumber industry. After 20 years with Weyerhaeuser, he left to become an independent consultant.
His consulting experience includes project manager for an $8,000,000 state-of-the-art furniture manufacturing plant, capital feasibility analysis for a new lumber sorter and implementation of a computer-based maintenance management system. He has been VP of a small company that developed a hand-held QC measuring device and he also owned a retail franchise business for 5 years. While with The Freeland Group, he has developed a lean manufacturing initiative and consulted with local companies in this area.
He holds an industrial engineering degree from Stanford University and is a graduate of the University of Washington Management Program. He is a registered professional engineer in Washington state.
